A: I am a warranty claims adjuster. I have no clue what you paid for your warranty, but I will give you an example of a claim I just handled on a 2005 H2. Both side mirrors stopped working. They have motors inside that remotely fold them in so people don’t drive by and knock them off. This one itsy bitsy claim was $1200.00. If your radiator decides to start leaking at a seam, the radiator will cost you about $865 just for the part. If the radiator leaks, and you put it off and overheat and it happens to overheat the transmission fluid and burn up your transmission, $3250.00 just for the transmission. You can cancel it if you want, but keep in mind, it doesn’t matter how classy it is, anything with moving parts in it is going to break. I lose count how many claims I handle per day on top end vehicles, including Hummer, Audi, Mercedes, VW, BMW, Mini Cooper, etc. More often than not, one single claim can cost twice as much as your warranty cost. I have no clue what you paid, but if you are open to different options and plans, I can point you in the right direction.

A: i live in america, the market where it was designed to be “practical”, and even i wouldn’t buy one. to be honest, it’s completely outclassed by a land rover range rover in nearly every category except, in america, price. in the uk, they cost about the same, so why would you actually choose to buy a car that looks military outside, cramped and cheap inside, and is completely useless off road. i mean it. on anything other than a pre-arranged gm off road test track, the car is a gonner.
plus, despite the 6.2 liter v8 engine, the car has less horsepower per ton than a toyota yaris. it weighs 4 tons.
some people like the asthetics of it, but i can assure you, especially living in scottland, it will be miserable to live with day in and day out. from what i hear, even corvettes are too wide for scottish streets, so how could a hummer make it through?
buy a range rover, it will be more luxurious, more prestigious, be better to drive on road, go places off road the hummer can only dream, and if you take a cheaper model, even cheaper to buy. it will also be much better made.
in short: if even an american is telling you to stay away from the hummer, stay the hell away from it! if you want luxury and off roading, take the range rover. if you want luxury, off roading, and seven seats, then take the mercedes gl.

i have a 07 limited edition red hummer h2..i have had 2 new nav discs sent to me from gm that wont work in my h2 but work elsewhere..i have had gm send out 2 new radios also..nothing!!the dealership says its the disc..gm nav center says its the radio…does anyone have an idea what it might be?? thanx
A: Well try a different disc. If it works, you’ve solved it. Sounds like the disc to me. Red Hummers always get lost.

A: Yes, the H1 is larger. It is also mostly found as a diesel. Average gasoline engines don’t produce enough torque to move the kind of weight of the H1. If, by toughest, you are meaning survivability, then I agree. The mercedes and Newer Tahoe armored vehicles are pretty much your best bet (for a common vehicle). However, They will take major damage. They are designed to take a direct hit from a shoulder launched missile and allow the occupants to survive.
If you want thoughest ever built, then the army has a new automated vehicle that requires an engine per axle (like the airport fire engines) to move it forward it is so heavily armored. One of the lastest “petersons four wheel drive” did a small article about it the other month. Although, the “blast-away” armoured tanks are pretty cool too. They actually deflect the incoming missile by layering explosives around the occupant section of the tank. Their supposed to take a hit and keep on moving without any damage save for scorch marks.
However, I don’t know of any vehicle that could take the impact of a semi (loaded or unloaded) without taking any or little damage. You could technically build one. but any time it took a hit from a semi, the impact would kill the occupants instantly as energy transfers through the body like the cue hitting the nine ball.
