Find great deals and more information about the 2011 Chevrolet Camaro! At your favorite automotive site carbl.com

Q: Would buying a Chevrolet Camaro be a bad choice in the long run?
Hi, I did some research on it along with other cars, and a 2012 Chevy Camaro is at the top of my list for when I return from my 6-month long military bootcamp/school. I need to purchase a vehicle asap once i’ve returned because I need to drive from base and home every weekend and I only get a week break to buy a car so with that said, if you guys have any other suggestions with cars that look nice, have a managable pricetag, and good in the the long run (maintenance-wise) then go ahead and recommend them if you want. So is a Camaro going to bite me in the a$$ financially after only a couple years or so or is it a good investment? And yes, I said 2012 not 2011, they will be released by the time I return. Thanks peeps.

A: Definetly not! GM vehicles have increasingly better reliability than they use too. Plus, this is a “New” generation camaro and being the sport car that they are they will be holding there value! Not to mention the cool new Camaro Convertible is coming soon.

Q: Does co-signing on a car improve my credit rating?
I purchased a 2011 Chevrolet Camaro 2LT today. My credit score is 772, but since I don’t have established credit (just one credit card that I haven’t used in a year; I don’t have any bills), my mom had to be the official signer of the car and I had to co-sign, even though it’s my car. So my question is, does being the co-signer help improve my credit and give me the established credit that I need, or will it only improve my mother’s credit who actually won’t be making any payments on the car?

Thanks in advance for your help!

A: Agree with bdancer. A cosigner is basically the same as being the official signer. They make no distinction when reporting to the credit bureaus, and they make no distinction if you mess up and they need to come after you (or your mom) in court. So yes, it will help you build your credit.

PS – start using your credit card. Just buy a tank of gas every month and pay it off as soon as you get the bill. Otherwise they may close it due to inactivity, and your credit score may suffer.

Q: How much lower can you get a car dealer on a $25,000 vehicle?
I have my eye on a 2011, pre-owned Camaro at my local Chevrolet dealer. It’s about $25,0000, I’m thinking about getting it, I’m just curious though, how much lower do you think I can get the dealer down to? I trying to get the best deal possible so I want to try and get him to go as low as possible. Are there any buyer tricks out there that anyone can help me out with? Also, I haven’t found one yet, but if I was to not get the 2011 Camaro, what would be the cheapest 2010 Camaro I could get.If I got a 2010, I would be looking for something under $20,0000, or at least be able to get the dealer to sell it to me for under $20,000 (preferably about $15,0000-$18,000, if possible)

Thaks in advance

A: I am happy to hear about your interest in the Camaro. When it comes to pricing, it is ultimately up to the dealer’s discretion. I would hope that you would continue to work with your local dealership in regards to your purchase. I can provide you with the MSRP Price for the new vehicles. Keep in mind that all prices provided represent the current Manufacturer’s Suggested Retail Price and do not include tax, title, license, dealer fees and optional or dealer installed equipment. The current MSRP for 2010 and 2011 Camaro LS is $22,680.00 with a destination charge of $850.00. I am also going to provide you a link to a site where you can search for used vehicles in your area by entering your zip code. If you have further questions, please feel free to contact me directly by email. Thank you.

Q: How do I reset the low tire warning light on a 2011 Dodge Avenger?

A: Inflate all four tires to the pressures recommended on the Tire Load and Inflation tag inside the drivers door then drive it for at least 25 minutes at over 15 mph.

Q: Sedan vs Compact SUV?
I know this question has probably been asked a million times, but I’ll be getting my first car sometime next year (2011 model year) and am very torn. My dad works for Chrysler so it is going to be from chrysler/dodge/jeep. Period. And fortunately for me, it’ll be new. So basically, the best two I can think of are the Jeep Patriot and Dodge Avenger (or Chrysler 200)

Advantages of the Jeep are the go anywhere practicality of a 4 wheel drive, cargo volume, and safety. Among others. The dodge is slightly better on gas milage, has a 6 speed transmission (vs CVT), has a nicer interior etc.

Your opinions would be greatly appreciated!

A: They are both horrible. Get a Grand Cherokee or Durango, they only 2 half decent Chryslers.

Find great deals and more information about the Volkswagen Tiguan! At your favorite automotive site carbl.com

Q: Volkswagen Tiguan?
When is the VW Tiguan supposed to come out and what is the starting price? I heard like mid-20’s is that true?

A: The last time I looked it up the time frame was May/June. The base price sounds about right, adding accessories will put the final cost up there.

Q: What is the song in the Volkswagen Tiguan commercial?
I like the song in the Volkswagen Tiguan commercial and i’m wondering what song it is.

A: the name of the song is “look for the changes in my life” by Human Music House..

Q: Would the volkswagen tiguan be good for a 17 year old?
I’m looking at cars to buy in the future like several months from now or next year. I really like tiguan. Is it a good, safe car? Do you think it’s a good looking car? Thanks. I’m just having fun looking right now, I will most likely buy a used car but I’m wondering about this.

A: I am actually just 2 years older then you and my dad just bought me a 2010 Tiguan SEL a couple months ago and I LOVE IT! My dad did over a years worth of research on finding the right car (while I was patiently waiting!) and he finally decided on the Tiguan. At first I wanted a a Jeta or Audie A4 but after further research, the Jeta is less reliable and is built in Mexico while all Tiguans are built in Germany. A used Audie A4 2010 premium package with under 10,000 miles is about the same price as a brand new Tiguan SEL. The handling of the Tiguan is great and the breaks are amazing and fast responding (trust me, it has saved me from multiple bumper accidents!). What sold my dad on getting the Tiguan was the high safety ratings that are unbeatable. The inside is gorgeous and i suggest you get the sun roof because it goes all the way from the front seat to the back…pretty much feels like a convertible. I go to a university where literally everyone drives huge trucks so getting a mid-sized SUV is a safe bet.

Q: Is the Volkswagen Tiguan ABT edition available for sale?
Hi, I was looking and thinking of buying a Volkswagen Tiguan, and when I searched on google images a Tiguan ABT came up and looks really amazing. When I did some more research, the ABT comes with a better engine, etc.

Do you think Volkswagen sells the ABT version? Or if not, do you think they can at least add options like a skirt, spoiler, etc to make it look like the ABT?

Thanks

A: VW and ABT are not the same company. The only way own an ABT Tiguan is to buy a Tiguan and then have ABT install the package you want.

Also VW might have exterior add-ons for the Tiguan, but they will not have the same ones as the ABT Tiguan does. Again you would have to go through ABT for that.

Q: What would it take to special order a Volkswagen Tiguan with a v6?
I love the tiguan, but I hate the fact it only has a 4 cil. Now I don’t know much about cars but I looked online and found a 2006 special ordered v6 tiguan. How do I go about doing that? What do you think the cost would be?

A: They only come in a 4 cylinder. Someone didn’t special order it. They bought a 4 cylinder and then had the engine swapped. At this point the car was worth nothing because of the modifications and they lost a good chunk of the warranty.

There was no 2006 Tiguan either. 2007 was the 1st year.

Q: what is the song on the new volkswagen tiguan add?
Me and my friend are looking for a song with good harmonies and i heard the one on the ad and i really liked it but i couldn’t find out what the song was…. If anyone knows could they please tell me?

A: The tune is by Andrew Weatherall and is called ‘Feathers’

Q: What are your thoughts on the volkswagen tiguan?
i’m considering buying it and i was wondering what other people thought about. is it a good car? is it “manly” or “girly”?

A: I think its nice and definitely not girly.

Q: why are the tires orange on the new 2008 Volkswagen Tiguan?
just wondering why….if there is a purpose or not.

A: It’s very comon to use diferent tire colors in concept cars also the Ford Iosis X uses orange stripes on the tires, it;s only design stuff

Q: what are your thoughts on the volkswagen tiguan?
i’m considering buying it and i was wondering what other people thought about. is it a good car? is it “manly” or “girly”?

A: I’ve tested it, I sell cars for a living actually, so what I can say is that Tiguan is an excellent option, because of its turbo engine and how it all perfectly works together, it’s agile and fast but kinda expensive for what you’re getting.
You may like to consider Audi Q5, Mercedes – Benz GLK & BMW X3 (and maybe BMW X1 which will soon be arriving) too because of their german engineering but I’d recommend you to check out the turbocharged Mazda CX7, it’s an awesome option because of its capabilities, it has much better equipment (compared to Tiguan) and it’s bigger too, it is also agile and sporty because of its turbo and I personally like it as much as Tiguan.
Check out your options, and If you like it, it doesn’t matter if I think it’s manly or girly just get what you like and what’s gonna make you happy, Volkswagen is a great manufacturer and you’ll be pleased having a Tiguan, that’s for sure.
(check out the links below)

Q: Volkswagen tiguan rns 510 radio navigation system?
Could any volkswagen specialist please tell me if it is possible to tune the radio, so that you can see whats happening as regard to the radio station and the radio presenter.
I could do this on my Golf mk 6. But cant see how to do this on the Tiguan!

Any ideas please?

A: This is ofter disabled on car radios as it is a distraction and just plain not available on all radios and radio stations. Some of the things you mention are only on DAB digital and youmay not have that in the Tig

Q: What on earth has gone wrong at Volkswagen with their Tiguan deliveries. We are now into our 23rd week waiting.
The Tiguan in question was ordered 13th. November last in Shadow Blue with beige leather and auto box coupled to the TDI engine. So far we do not have a build date but because Volkswagen are a great company we DO have a loan car pending delivery of the Tig.

A: what’s your question?
I’m waiting for the release of the Tiguan too.. i’m “upgrading” from a passat.. they’re supposed to be out in June.. (to the public) sounds like you’ve pre-ordered?

Q: Which one is better toyota corolla or a Volkswagen Tiguan?
I want to buy a car which is economic, nice and good quality.
So i have 2 make a choice between a T.Corolla ,Ford Edge, V.Tiguan.
i want the pro’s and Contra’s of each one from u.
Give me a Helping hand 2 make a better choice.

Thnx

A: there is no comparison of Volkswagon with toyota corolla ..

Q: Volkswagen tiguan or Toyota RAV4?
Which would you choose to buy out of a new Volkswagen tiguan or a Toyota RAV4 ?

A: The VW is a lot better build car more sturdy and its 2.0 turbo charged engine gives it more power then the rav 4 with acceleration from 0-60 in 7.85 seconds with top speed of 130mph which is electronically limited an produces 200hp which the rav 4 4cylinder engine cannot compare to. plus the Tiguan is not a piece of shit ricer.

Q: What’s the music in the Volkswagen Tiguan ad?
What’s the music in the Volkswagen Tiguan ad? (UK)

A: Andrew Weatherall – “Feathers”

http://www.whatsthatcalled.com/forum/index.php?automodule=blog&blogid=2&showentry=298

Q: There is handler below steering wheel in Tiguan SUV (Volkswagen).?
Do I have to pool the handler up or down to adjust position of steering wheel in Tiguan Volkswagen SUV?

A: I have one, and all you have to do is pull the handle down (towards your feet).

Then you can adjust the height and how close or far away the steering wheel is to your body. As a little note, adjusting the closeness of the steering wheel takes a pretty big tug or push to adjust it. The telescoping feature won’t really move with small amounts of pressure.

Once your down adjusting, make sure you pull the handle back up again to lock it into place. Hope I helped.

Q: What is your opinion on the Porsche Panamera?
This is directed to Panamera owners, but anyone can answer

So what is your opinion on the car?
Is it reliable?
Comfortable?
Spacey(as in has enough legroom and such)

Would it be a good family car?
How would it run in the snow?

A: It’s great, comfortable too. The look is different, but it grows on you eventually to look sexy and almost exotic after a while. The speed is of a true Porsche as well.

Q: What do you guys think of the new Porsche Panamera? When will it be in the dealerships? Is Porsche part of VW?
Another car that interests me that I could consider. How do you guys think it looks? I kinda like the hatchback look. How do you guys think it will perform? And most importantly, which every answer I get is different, is Porsche part of VW?!

A: The Panamera looks like it could be a very successful car for Porsche, and on paper certainly seems well matched against it’s BMW and MB competitors. Time will tell how the car does and how it’s styling holds up. Personally I find the looks a little odd, but have yet to see one in person – I suspect I may like the looks in real life better than it’s looked in pictures.

It looks like it will offer excellent performance, especially for a car that will be as heavy as it is (though it looks like it will tip in a little less than much of it’s competition).

The first US deliveries should have already taken place, but it will most likely not be a common site at dealerships for some months still (probably September-October will be when most pre-orders are delivered).

As for the company – at present it looks like Porsche and VW will merge (or more specifically, form a new holding company which will then hold both companies as one entity).

Historically, the two have often been linked as Dr. Porsche was the designer of the original VW Bug (though he also had ties as a designer to pretty much every German auto maker), and the early Porsches were designed to use many VW parts since these were some of the few readily available parts in post-war Germany when Porsche started operation. Further, many members of the Porsche family have been and currently are on the Board of VW.

Confusing the issue in the US is that VW dealers were the original point of sales for Porsche in the US. As Porsche grew, many dealers became VW-Porsche dealers, confusing many into thinking that VW owned Porsche (they didn’t, they merely shared a sales and distribution organization in the US). In recent years, VW’s plummeting stock prices led to Porsche purchasing more than 50% of VW… something that has now led to Porsche being stretched too far under current credit issues (complicated by things like launching the Panamera), which is why the two are currently looking to merge into one company.

Q: Why is the upcoming Porsche Panamera classified as a sedan?
every time i see the Panamera it looks as if has a 5th door. The body shape suggests hatchback to me. However every time it is mentioned it is called a sedan?
i understand it has foor doors but it very clearly looks like a hatchback
the Audi A4 wagon has four doors and back seat

A: it’s a 4-door. hence, it’s a sedan.

Q: When will the Porsche Panamera be in an Auto Show? And when will it be for sale.?
I have a 2008 Porsche Cayenne Turbo and I just need to know when I can by a Porsche Panamera. Because I am a Porsche lover. I have all the Porsche Cars. So when I get this one I will be so happy. Thank You!

A: It will likely appear at certain major autoshows as early as 2009… though for most auto shows, 2010 or even 2011 will be the point where it can be readily seen (this has been the pattern with prior high end releases by Porsche).

However, of you have all the current models, your best bet would be to talk to your salesman at the dealership, as they will be quite anxious to assist you… locally, the PCA guys here that have 2 or even three current models tend to get royal treatment from their dealer and have been readily put at the top of waiting lists for new models as well as given loaners of new cars to help them make up their mind on what options they want. They will be able to give you much more information, and given the amount you’ve spent, will likely be able to arrange for something more (if you are also purchasing any of the new models coming, they will almost certianly arrange a preview at the factory if you take European Delivery).

Q: What do you think of the new porsche panamera?
im looking to get a car and i like the panamera but i want to know what others think of it.

A: I’ll withhold judgment on the Panamera until I see it in person. I currently own a 911 Turbo and I owned an air-cooled 911 coupe previously. The Panamera’s performance will be stellar.

Of course, this will be an expensive car — near the $100,000 mark for the base model. Because the supply is likely to be extremely limited at first, dealers will likely charge big premiums. How big? A brand new Porsche GT2, which lists at $194,000, generally sells in the U.S. for between $250,000 and $300,000.

The Panamera’s interior will be beautiful and extremely functional. You won’[t see “pillow-top” leather seats like those in the big BMWs. Porsche believes that form follows function: they leave out the crap.

Q: Do I fit in a Porsche Panamera?
Maybe it’s a stupid question but here it is…

Do i fit in a Porsche Panamera? I am over 2.05 meters tall. I already know that i won’t fit in 911 Porsche but that’s a lot smaller over all.

Thanks for your answers!
Terribly sorry, that is somewhere around 6.8 feet – 2.05 meters.

A: dude dont you worry you will fit, push the seat all the way to the back and you will be fine, except no one will be able to sit behind you tho, my brother is 6.6 and jeeez, he drives his 911 and there is noo space what so ever for anyone to fit behind him, so yes it will be a bit of squeeze for you in 911 but in the panamera you will be fine, just go to porsche dealer and sit in one of these

Q: What do you think of the Porsche Panamera?
I saw it on the website, and I think I’m in love. What do you think?

Here’s a picture: http://blog.koormann.de/files/porsche-panamera-1.png

A: So, I finally got to see one in person. Beautiful. If you think this looks like a Mitsubishi, you need new glasses!

LOTS of the big BMWs and Mercedes, that cost as much or more, are going to be redesigned in the next couple of years. A Bentley Flying Spur costs nearly $200,000, and is one pigmobile.

I haven’t driven one yet, and that’s likely to be a long time coming; however, I did talk to someone who got behind the wheel (I was at the Porsche Parade in Keystone, CO): “It’s a sports car, an honest-to-goodness four-door sports car!”

Porsche doesn’t fool around with the fru-fru (pillow top seats? BMW, what are you thinking?); everything in its place and falling naturally to hand.

Remember, this is a four door sedan, not a 911 Turbo. Compare it to an S65 AMG Mercedes ($200,000), not to a Ferrari. Beautiful!

Added:
I owned a 1996 (993) air-cooled 911 coupe. I loved that car, but had to sell it to buy my new one. Most collectors and afficionados consider the 993 to be the epitome of “old Porsche” design. The 1996 couldn’t hold a performance candle to my 2005 911.

Q: What do you think of the Porsche Panamera as a police pursuit vehicle?
500HP
all wheel/four wheel Drive
twin clutch 7 speed auto

back seats for detaining non violent pot smokers and cop killers alike

what do you think? all “buy american” aside

A: A huge waste of money. There are very very few places where a high speed pursuit vehicle is necessary, and the currently-used Cameros with the Z06 engines are more than sufficient.

In the vast majority of situations, raw speed and all wheel drive are not even in the top 5 most important things in a police vehicle. Take a look at how the Impala is designed, and you’ll get an idea of what a police-optimized vehicle from the ground up looks like.

Q: Why the negativity on the Porsche Panamera?
The Porsche Panamera is a good idea for me i always wanted a 911 porshce but thought it was too small but the panamera is so convenient (well for me) more space in front and in the back
what are your thoughts..And if you are one of the people who think its a bad car to add to the porsche line up please give me a reason
looking forward for your comments

A: This is nothing new… some will cry that the Panamera is a sign that the company has lost it’s way and proof that it’s no longer producing the kind of car that made it what it is. The same cry that went up when the Cayenne was introduced… and the same cry that went up when the 928 was introduced… and really, the same cry that came from some when the 901 was first introduced (before it was relabelled the 911).

Logically thinking, a Porsche is a car made by Porsche.. thus the Panamera is as much a Porsche as a 1973 911 RS. They come from the same source, although there are many many differences between them. However, if you look around, you’ll find some that will say a Porsche is a car that is a two door sports car, the Panamera isn’t a Porsche. Or that a Porsche is a two door sports car with an engine behind the driver, thus the Panamera, 924/944/968, 928, Cayenne, etc are not real Porsches. Then the set of people that think it also has to be air cooled, and rear engined (not just behind the driver, but behind the rear axel), and thus all the current cars and… well, everything other than the 356, 911, and 912 are pretty much not real Porsches. For any of these people, the introduction of a new car that will define Porsche for many people is seen as a terrible thing.

The Panamera iteself sounds great on paper, and makes sense as a market segment that Porsche should be involved in. The pictures are not the most flattering so far, but it may look better in person as that often happens. The biggest negitive around the Panamera right now is that it’s coming out in the midst of such poor economic times, which is less than ideal for the company given the amount it’s invested in development and that it will now likely not be able to recoup that for a much longer period than had originally been planned.

Q: How is the ‘10 porsche panamera compared to the 2010 Merc s550?
I need somebody who knows what they’re talking about! which one is more comfy? which one is safer? which one is more sporty? why? everything u can possibly think of!!! thanks a lot!!!!!! DETAIL!!!!

A: It depends on what trim levels of either car. The S550 doesn’t do Mercedes justice compared to the Panamera, you have to look at the big, bad@$$ AMG models to get a decent comparison. In a recent road-and-track comparo, MOTOR Magazine Australia compared the top-spec S63 AMG, with the 6.2L naturally aspirated V8, to the similarly top-spec Porsche Panamera Turbo, with a twin-turbocharged 4.8L V8.

The Panamera is more sophisticated, and safer, but the S63 is more fun to drive, more powerful, more comfortable in its ride, and delimited it would leave the Panamera for dust, and a better sound to match. Interior quality goes to the Panamera, whereas exterior looks certainly favour the S63, especially compared to the ‘Mera’s hideous rear-end.

It’s the fun-factor where the S63 also starts to leave the Panamera for dead. The Panamera behaves, well, like a 4-door 911 as that’s essentially what it is, which means it’s the more nimble of the two, but the Big Merc combines more horsepower-per-tonne with a tail-happy sports suspension setup (and rear-wheel-drive, which may be a deal-breaker if you live in snowy conditions; the Panamera Turbo is all-wheel-drive) to produce a fun drive with, if you choose, lots of slidey-slidey rubber-burning fun. Despite weighing in at just under 4500 pounds (the S63 weighs 4400 pounds, the Panamera 4343 pounds), the 63 really shifts something spectacular.

The conclusion to the MOTOR review was that the S63 won by “the smallest of margins” for its plush ride, brilliant sound from the massive 6.2L powerhouse, and its looks.

Q: PORSCHE Panamera 4 Door Turbo Sport Sedans?
Anyone ordered their Panameras?
I ordered 5 with turbos and I will personally pick them up in Stuttgart,Germany
It’s not for me! I have”clients” that don’t want to personally handle these types of transactions!

A: No, but I sat in one the other day. What a lucky man you are, Kris!

Q: How much will the Porsche Panamera cost?
And when will it come out?

-Thanks!

A: When it goes on sale in the fall of 2009, the rear-wheel-drive Panamera will offer a choice of two V-8 engines. Four-wheel drive won’t come before 2010. The powerplants, loosely based on the V-8 in the Cayenne, switch to direct injection and grow to 4.8 liters. The normally aspirated engine will make about 400 hp, and the turbocharged version should be good for 500 hp. The base model tips the scales at nearly 4000 pounds. With bigger tires and brakes plus other modifications, the Panamera turbo will weigh a substantial 4300 pounds–no featherweight, but three quarters of a ton less than a Cayenne Turbo. The turbo is said to accelerate from 0 to 62 mph in 4.2 seconds and have a top speed of 188 mph.
In 2010, an entry-level V-6 model likely will be added. Equipped with a 300-hp, 3.6-liter V-6 supplied by Volkswagen, this variant is said to be capable of 155 mph. A year later, Porsche will launch a hybrid, powered by a combination of the V-6 and a 100-hp electric motor. The 175-mph hybrid is supposed to blend the performance of a standard 911 with the fuel economy of a base Boxster.
Also on its way is a dual-clutch automatic transmission. The seven-speed paddle-shift gearbox will be an alternative to the six-speed manual. Ceramic-composite brakes and active dampers also will appear on the options list.
According to chairman Wendelin Wiedeking, the annual sales target for the Panamera is 20,000 units, but as is typical of Porsche, that number is a major understatement. According to an internal document, the goal for the first full year of production exceeds 27,000 cars, and a year later demand is expected to peak at more than 30,000. In America, prices for the Panamera should range from about $75,000 to $115,000.

Q: Which is the most expensive? Porsche Panamera, Maserati Quattroporte or Aston Martin Rapide?
Please the top speed too!

A: The standard Porsche Panamera is about $89000, the standard Maserati Quattroporte is about $126000, and the standard Aston Martin Rapide is about $236000. The Porsche goes 175mph, the Maserati goes 172mph and the Aston goes 188mph.

Q: Aston Martin Rapide or Porsche Panamera Turbo?
What do you prefer and why? I like the Rapide because it is classier, sexier, and has more prestige. They’re both good cars though.

A: I definitely like the Aston Martin Rapide alot better than the Panamera. The styling of Panemera in my opinion is horrid. It’s like mixing a Porshe 911 with an ugly hatchback. The 911 wasn’t meant to be a four-door but neither was the DB9. But the platform of the DB9 definitely is better suited to be converted to a four-door. Both have a close top speed. The Panamera Turbo has really been pushed to it’s limit, theres not much room for improvement without a new engine change. But there is nearly $90,000 price difference though.

Q: Porsche Panamera or Fisker Karma?
ohh man im having a tough debate whether or not to get the 2010 Porsche Panamera 4S, or the 2010 Fisker Karma. Fisker has exterior win, both have a beautiful interior, but Fisker has unbeatable fuel economy. Im aiming towards the fisker, but i just wanna see what you guys think.

A: I like both.

Both are unique, both are sophisticated, both are good cars.

The Fisker is better looking, the Porsche is more practical.
Neither one is “overrated”.

It come down to, do you want to have to plug in the Fisker every 50 miles? Or would you rather just fill up the porsche with petrol and keep going.

The Fisker Karma is almost a step backwards when you think about it.

if you have multiple cars, get the Fisker Karma. If this will be your primary car, get the Porsche Panamera.

Q: how much would car insurance on a nissan GT R cost?
lets say i have been driving for 35 years no accidents and no tickets. Both my parents have never been in an accident or have gotten any tickets.

A: Depends on your age, sex, driving record, where you live and how long you had your license.

Q: What is the difference between the [2012 Nissan GT-R Premium Coupe] and the [2012 Nissan GT-R Black Edition]?
I was on edmunds.com and compared these cars. i saw no differences, so i thought i should ask you guys. Also, is the 2012 Nissan GT-R even out in the US yet?

A: The exact same question was asked not too long ago here:

For the MY 2012 Black Edition the differences are: red-trimmed Recaro seats, red interior trim (door handles etc), a black headliner (premium has a tan colored headliner) and the 6-spoke Spec V rims.

And yes it is out in the US now. You can go into any dealer now and order it, if they don’t have the one you want on lot immediately you can tell them what you want they’ll likely arrange to bring one in from their allocation at port or you’ll get one built from the factory.

If you search autotrader or cars.com you’ll see quite a bit of 2012 local inventory at Nissan Dealers in the states right now. I saw 66 2012’s on cars.com and 58 on Autotrader.com, probably a lot of dealers advertising on both sites.

Q: What is the stopping distances of a Nissan GT-R?
, like 70-0, 60-0, 50-0, etc.
can someone link where to get the information to find out what the stopping distance of a Nissan GT-R at various speeds

A: 2009 and newer GT-R have very large 15″ brake rotors that are thick 1.5″ with 6 piston Brembo front calipers and 4 piston rear calipers. I have not measured the stopping distances or time but I have actually used the braking system at maximum stopping several times. GT-R accelerate very quickly and people on the roads change lanes with out looking when talking on there phones texting. Each time I had to really get onto the brakes it made me smile that I did not punt the idiot into the ditch. Or damage a 93 thousand dollar car.

Q: Who would win in a drag race? A Nissan GT-R or a Corvette ZR1?
I’m just wondering since i’m debating whether to buy one or the other. I love drag racing and i’m looking to pump up my garage that already has a 2010 Cadillac CTS-V and a 2008 Lancer Evolution.

A: strict numbers and performance ZR-1 for sure. Rarity would go to the GT-R.

Q: How would the Nissan Skyline GT-R R34 Z-tune (Limited Edtion: 20) fare against my Favorite Porsche 911 Turbo.?
Nismo sanctioned by Nissan to build 20 production Z-tune models (Nissan Skyline GT-R R34 Z-tune).
- 2.8L (Inline-6)9000rpm min redline
- IHI turbochargers.
- 500hp /400 lb-ft torque (approximate rating)
- Z-tune engine, Model ‘Z2′
- All wheel drive
- Weight lb: 3526
- Bodywork designed w/the same functional components used in Nismo’s GT500 racing cars, (engine bay vents on the hood and fenders, wider fenders for wider wheels)
- Z-tune improved w/ an aggressive suspension setup
- Special Brembo brake setup – Front mono-block calipers/six-pistons/two-piece 14.3″ rotors. Rear four-piston calipers/one-piece 13.9″ rotors
-ATTESA ET-S all-wheel-drive system

The entire car is essentialy handmade, with the car being completely stripped and re-built from the chassis up. Engineers reinforced and stiffened the chassis in key areas, completely redesigned the suspension, drivetrain, engine, gearbox and other componentry so as to work at maximum efficiency and reliability .

A: The 2001 996 Turbo beat a Skyline GT-R on the track in the DVD I’ve linked to below, but just barely. The AWD makes the turbo a tough car to take by anything with 2wd, but the AWD Skyline was pretty close to being its match. Honestly, if the Skyline would have beat the turbo to the first corner, the result probably would have been different; once that Porsche’s in front of you, though, it’s awfully hard to build enough of an advantage to get past it. If you get the video, notice that the Ferrari 360 Modena got left in the dust, as did the Corvette Z51, and many others.

Q: Is a Nissan Skyline GT-R R34 available to buy in the U.S?
I’ve been looking around, but it seems like it’s only available in Japan. Can’t find it on Vehix.com, Cars.com, or the official Nissan site! It also doesn’t help that the 2009 GT-R is confusing my search even further…

My question is, could a person living in the U.S. buy one without going out of the country? If so, price estimation?

Q: Why are Nissan skyline GT-R illegal in the US?
I heard that the skyline are illegal in the US because they’re too fast for the cops so I’m not sure.

A: The new GT-R models are for sale in the US and can be seen on Nissanusa.com

The older GTR models where only sold in Japan all but a few other where sold through Nissan in small numbers to the UK and sold through Nissan, all countries which import the Skyline have to alter certainfeatures of the car to allow it to meet requirments there, like emissions and headlights etc, this is the same for this car in the US,loopholes allow this car into the country but often is costly..

Engine wise the RB skyline engines are super tunable and what makes them popular is they come in a detuned state so simple mods make major power gains and they engines can see over 1000bhp.Hence the Skyline holding many records IE awd Drag record.

Q: Can someone in the Air Force afford a 2009 Nissan GT-R?
Doesn’t matter if used or new.
E-4 and doesnt matter if new or used

A: Depends on their rank, obviously.

But since you have to ask, that means you’re not a high enough rank to afford it.

So, no.

Edit: Your RANK is Senior Airman. E-4 is your pay grade. If someone mentions your rank, you don’t respond by saying what level of pay you are in. Have some pride already.

Q: how is this nissan GT-R 6 cylinder faster than a z06 corvette?
http://carversation.com/2008/03/21/porsche-911-turbo-chevrolet-corvette-z06-and-us-spec-nissan-gt-r-hit-the-racetrack/

A: The hp is close so it comes down to weight and traction. On a higher speed track the Z06 would have a huge weight advantage. On a short tight track the GT-R has a huge traction advantage.

The GT-R is also a much more expensive car and is about half way between the Z06 and the ZR1. That money probably went to making the car go faster.

Q: how much will a 2009 nissan GT-R be worth in five years?
in five years how much will a used 09 GTR be woth?

A: I suppose you have to look at how older GTR models hold there value as the price drops demand will increase again for the car,so yes it wil drop to a level and drop slowly over the years, again seen with some other sporty cars and other GTR models.

Q: How much is a 97-98 nissan skyline gt-r?
how much can I get one, whats the ave price on the market?

A: Prices vary where people live where i live they go from around 6-7k upwards but other places prices vary,a lot of this is do to the work needed to make them fit regs for that country so prices jump up.

Best bet is shop around to find one that suits your budget on sites, also if you have no luck look at importers like speedierimports.com.

Q: Where can i get a nissan GT-R
Where can i get a nissan GT-R, can i only get one from japan, and how much would it cost???

A: Go to a Nissan dealer and bring lots and lots of money. They cost about $70k but dealers are marking them up close to $30k more.

It will be sold in the US too.

Q: What is the better choice to buy a 2001 nissan skyline GT-R R34 or a modified 1997 toyota supra?
Im stuck please help

A: it depends where you are. if you’re in the USA, go for the Supra, definitely. The skylines are far too expensive to justify, and unless you find a Motorex Bond released car, then the government has the ability to take it away from you, pretty much at any time. the Supras are much cheaper, 100% US Legal, and don’t require learning how to shift with your left hand. If, however, you’re in a country where skylines are legal to own, and you have the cash, I’d go with one of those.

Q: Is the Nissan GT-R automatic?
I wanted to know if the Nissan GT-R is going to be automatic because i don’t like manuals. Plaese tell me!

A: its a dual clutch, which I personally think is better than a manual because if your going for an automatic that can beat anyone’s hand that is what you go for.

Q: What is better the Chevrolet Corvette z06 or the Nissan GT-R?

A: The ZO6 is fast

The Nissan GT-R is viciously fast + 2 more seats and – the crappy Cobalt interior…

The GT-R is Z06 price with ZR1 performance

Q: What do you know about the new KIA BORREGO?
I’m thinking about buying one.
Edmunds have no detailed info. The vehicle is too new.

Some people ( like myself) can’t do the Sedan or smaller cars. I have 2 small children and a grandchild. Which mean lots of bags and strollers and other essentials when traveling.

A: go to edmunds.com

Q: Which is best of the 3 — mazda cx-9, kia borrego, GMC acadia? i can’t decide which to buy of the 3?
I am going to buy one of these 3 cars but i don’t know which is best. They all seem great to me and i was impressed with all 3. How to decide?

A: You also should compare car insurance quotes for cars before buying one, for example here – carinsurance.yoll.net

Q: Questions about the size of Kia Borrego and Hyundai Veracruz!!!?
Which car is bigger? Seems like Borrego is but the specs say that the Veracruz is bigger. Help!

A: Kia:
Wheelbase 114.0 in (2896 mm)
Length 192.1 in (4879 mm)
Width 75.4 in (1915 mm)
Height 71.3 in (1811 mm)

Hyundai:
Wheelbase 110.4 in (2804 mm)
Length 190.6 in (4841 mm)
Width 77.6 in (1971 mm)
Height 71.1 in (1806 mm)

Overall the Borrego is in fact the bigger of the two.

Q: is a kia borrego a good suv?
I found a 2009 kia borrego at the dealer for 18,897!! and i was wondering if Kia is a good automotive company. is the price good? and also, it is a orange color for the exterior…Here’s the thing…..our relatives are big show offs and they think they have a lot of money….and we want a suv that might make them think that we have enough money too….so wat im trying to say here is….is this suv a good show off car? my dad was asking his friends and they’re saying “no don’t buy it” but my mom thinks its a good suv because it has leather seats and it has a 3rd row seating. My brother is 11…and im 14….do u think its the best time to buy a 7 seater…cause we’re kinda old now…and i dont know if we should stop looking or not….i would really appreciate if you could answer my question.

A: No, it is a piece of crap, leather and a third row you can get on virtually every SUV. Kia is a horrible company, your relatives will laugh at you.

Q: Questions about the 2009 Kia Borrego!?!?
I’m thinking of buying the Kia Borrego, but I have questions popping in my head.

Q #1:Can I get navigation with the dvd package?

Q #2: I want and need the limited model but it only has one color interior and exterior. So is there any other level of model (EX, LX, etc.) that is the exact same but just different colors?

Q #3: Does the limited model only have leather? Why doesn’t the other models have it?

Q #4: Just fond out that I can use the EX model and add options so they have like the Limited models. Than why does Kia have the Limited model? is there any difference between the EX 4×4 and Limited 4×4 if I do full options in the EX?

Thank yoU!

A: Try this

http://www.hyundaiusa.com/vehicle/veracruz/veracruz.aspx

you can get tons of colors for the limited and Hyundai owns Kia.

And other models dont have leather because it costs $ and they always make it optional because lots of people prefer cloth.

Q: Nissan pathfinder 2005 vs. Kia Borrego 2009?
I’m evaluating two cars (SUV), here’s the deal:

1- Nissan pathfinder 2005 4WD, 57000 miles, some manufacturer’s warranty left, $16,000

2- Kia Borrego 2009 V6 2WD, 6500 miles, warranty 10 years or 100,000 miles, $23,000

Which one has better value overall?

Thanks
Thanks all for your valuable feedback. Here are some facts to add:
- I live in westchester NY we get some snow during winter a year but upgrade to 4WD is possible
- The 2009 borrego car will be from the certified dealership and the full Kia warranty will apply.
- The 2005 nissan pathfinder also looks great and purchasing extended warranty is also possible.
I appreciate your opinion. Thanks

A: You also should compare car insurance quotes for cars before buying one, for example here – carinsurance.yoll.net

Q: Has anyone heard anything bout the new Kia Borrego SUV I want to know how much it’s going for.?

A: It won’t be available until summer ‘08. Other than pricing on the Kia website, you won’t find much until it is introduced.

Just have to wait.

Q: Did Kia only make the Borrego for 2009?
I own a 09 Borrego and i was on the Kia Motors website and the only thing they show is a 2009 and i was wondering if that was the only year they were made and if so why? Mine has 20,000 miles on it and it has been a great vehicle so far so i dont know why they would have discontinued them already unless i just havent got to the time when they start falling apart yet.

A: Yes the Borrego was only made for the 2009 model year. It was discontinued after extremely low sales numbers, it was criticized as being over priced compared to similar models, very poor reliability, moderate mpg, dated looks, and a truck like ride. While its been speculated to return as a 2011 model I find it very unlikely.

Q: wat is a better buy? a toyota highlander hybrid or a kia borrego?
Both of the cars are top of the line limited

A: most definitely toyota highlander hybrid!

Q: Hyundai Veracruz vs Kia Borrego/ Mohave?
I’m deciding on these 2 models, price wise they’re comparable but I can’t make up my mind yet. In my part of the world Hyundai throw in goodies like free laptop while KIA offers 5 yrs unlimited km warranty compared to 3yrs 75k km for Hyundai.

Help by highlighting what you think are best points If you own any of the car, any experience you might have with it would be helpful as well… Thanks

A: I’ve owned my 2007 Veracruz since December 2007 and I have to say I still couldn’t be more pleased with it.

My company allowed me to rent cars each week for about 4 months, as I had to drive about 8 hours away. After I stopped renting all sorts of vehicles, I went to look for a car to own and found the Veracruz.

With all the nice new cars and SUV’s I rented, none of them come close to how I feel when I drive this one. I still drive 8 hours away one or two weeks a month, but I take the Veracruz now, and I love being in it.

I have three kids and they all love it, too, and it’s nice that I can fit their friends in there as well.

While I don’t know anything about the KIA, I cannot find a negative thing to say about the Veracruz.

Q: Chevy Equinox or the Kia Borrego?

A: it depends if you dont want maintence and you dont have to give you car away when you want to sell it
Im a dealer, and im also a mechanic, no given kia has a 100000 mile warranty, but i have seen more kias with just a little over 100k with bad engines its a weekly occurence
i never see any chevys ever under 150k with engine problems and alot of the V8s are good for 300k with normal maintenance,
2nd Kia’s lose there value and have no resale value so at the end of 5yrs its work nothing at all where chevys hold there value

Q: 2008 toyota highlander or kia borrego???

A: highlander!
they’re more stylish, good on gas, and they have higher reliability ratings. Also, i believe its safer, and for sure, you’ll get a higher resale value on the toyota.

Q: How would I find the wires to manually lock my torque converter?
I drive an ‘09 Kia Borrego. The gas mileage is not superb and I was looking on ecomodder at ways to improve it. One modification that was said to greatly improve mileage was to find the wire that signals the torque converter to lock and connect it to a switch so the converter could be manually locked at a lower speed, which would improve gas mileage. Where are said wires?

A: Well you would need to remember to turn the switch off as you slowed down, came to a stop. Then turn it back on.

And you hot wire it and your more then likely will set a check engine lamp.
And as an 09, it’s probably still under warranty, do this and your warranty on the trans and such goes out the window.

Q: How does this lemon law work in PA?
In October 2010 I bought a brand new 2009 Kia Borrego left over. I have had the car 4 months. It has 8000 miles on it. Yes only 8000. Its been to the garage 2 times this month and they just called and told me that they have to replace the transmission. OK How do I know if its still gonna be safe to drive afterwards? I use my car for work, I am a home health aide. Any suggestions on what I should do?

A: So long as they repair it then it would not qualify for the lemon law, under the state lemon law the dealer can make 4 attempts to correct the problem and if they cannot or do not then they must refund your purchase price. Replacing the Transmission does not lessen the safety of the vehicle, reliability possibly but it should enhance the reliability, if the vehicle is still under warranty then you should be entitled to either a loan vehicle or reimbursement for a rental.}{

Q: Have anyone else had transmission problems with a 2009 Kia vehicle?
Ok bought a brand new 2009 leftover in Oct. 2010. In Feb 2011 took it back 2 times cause the SUV would shift on its own while I was driving. They said that it needs a new transmission. The SUV has 8000 miles on it. They have had the thing for almost a month now and the transmission is still on backorder. It is a Kia Borrego. Just wandered if anyone else had problems with a 2009 Kia. They gave me a 2009 Sedona to drive until I get mine back and the transmission is slipping in that one too.

A: I guess the Koreans can’t build transmissions, next time buy American, Ford or Chevy..

Q: What do you think of the Hyundai Equus?
Do you think it will be competition to top luxury cars, or just another car company failing to make a likable luxury car. To me it looks pretty elegant and technologically advanced, and looks very sharp inside and out.

A: Actually — got a chance to look at one when I took my Santa Fe in for routine service. It is definitely comfortable, there is a lot there, and although I like it — I prefer the Santa Fe overall (since I do live rurally — and yes, I can tow trailers with my Santa Fe).

Q: Does the Hyundai Equus come with an I Pad?
I saw a commercial for it, and my husband and I are debating whether the ad was for an Ipad app or the car actually came with an ipad in place of the owners manual.

A: When you buy an Equus; Hyundai gives you a free ipad. The Equus app, I think, comes preloaded on it.

No aj. You’re usually right; but all Equus buyers will get an ipad with the Equus manual preloaded. You can load the the app from the apple market to any apple device if you wanted to however.

NEW YORK — When the 2011 Hyundai Equus goes on sale this fall, the Korean automaker intends to pamper well-heeled customers and prospects, with free in-home demonstrations and service calls. As a bonus, Equus buyers will get a free Apple iPad, the hot new wireless multimedia tablet, from which they can schedule service appointments and access an electronic owner’s manual.

Q: hi pepole is anyone from london please tell to top gear to make a review on the hyundai equus?
please anybody from london do this favor for me please please please i am baging you please ok thank you very much.
i seen these videos before but i want topgear to review to see if they like it or no because top gear says hyundai si cheap but let them see this hyundai then they can say cheap or no

A: Just look on Youtube for reviews on the Huyndai Equus, they have had video reviews in the US posted on Youtube, Im sure the Hyundai will still be a Hyundai regardless what country its in. Look at these reviews.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GtAOA0TYrdg

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ch2KSHIu-Co&feature=related

Q: Which car is better Hyundai Equus vs Kia K7 vs Ssanyong Chairman W?

A: They havent come out yet in North America.

Q: Did the Hyundai Equus copy Lexus LS?
I just saw the hyundai equus and kind of looked a lot like the lexus LS…

A: I wouldn’t go as far as copy but I think they definitely set the Lexus LS as their benchmark. Hyundai has been improving by leaps and bounds as a manufacturer over the last 10 years. Their quality is high and their prices low for what you receive. I’m a Lexus owner but I wouldn’t hesitate to purchase a Hyundai. I think they are where Lexus was over 20 years ago. Some luxury brands owners are snobs who won’t consider Hyundai on its merit but will value only status in a brand.

The Equus is about 60,000 dollars but the comparable LS with similar options pushes 100k dollars. So the question is will someone who has 60k dollars to spend a car see the value and keep the other 40k dollars in their pocket instead of buying the more established brand. Some rich people get rich by being smart so its possible if the car’s are evaluated for what they are rather than what others perceptions are when you pull up based on the brand.

Q: is hyundai equus good?
people say that hyundai equus is good?

A: Hey Stephy, I’m afraid that you got your information from a bias medium. The bottom line is that the car is a very solid car and was designed and build to ‘compete’ with luxury models from Mercedes & BMW to name a few. If the Equus corners poorly then it is suffice to say that the same is true with the mercedes & BMWs that it was made to ‘compete aggressively against.

Q: Do you think the 2011 Hyundai Equus can be a good “mini-limo” for a company ?
Just wondering if this car can be a good company “mini-limo”.. I know Hyundai is getting good reputation in the US nowadays. If it was 5 years ago, many people would’ve said no to this..but time has changed.

What do you think?

A: I think it might be a good idea. They build an extended wheelbase version they call a “limousine” in Korea & it should be just as good here in America

Q: When will Hyundai Equus be released in Canada?

A: The Equus will go on sale in Canada at the end of this month. However Hyundai predicts they will sell 80-100 this year. Only 27 of Hyundai’s 197 Canadian dealers, half of them in Ontario, have signed up to sell the Equus, becuase lets be honest. Who’s gonna by a $70k Hyundai?

Q: Lexus Ls or Hyundai Equus?
There are two cars I really like. One is a used Ls, I like it a lot and like Lexus,s approach to luxury, the pursuit of perfection. But I saw a new Hyundai equus and once I found out it had tables massaging seats, lovely wood and high quality leather with heated and cooled front and back seats for $58,000-$64,000 I couldnt resist. Im stuck between these two cars. You may also look up the Hyundai equus if you haven’t heard about it.
I don’t care about brand history and prestige. For the last time I’m buying the car not the brand.

A: If I were you, I’d go with the Lexus. It’s proven, has good resale value, pretty reliable. The Equus could be a pretty good car, but I’m betting it will not hold its value as well as the Lexus. Hyundai branded cars have never really had great resale value. If you wait a couple of years, you could end up getting a good condition, slightly used Equus for a lot less money.

And don’t to listen to “TOYOTA SUCKS”, he’s a troll.

And @ Jbean: Dodge doesn’t have a $60,000+ luxury car. And most Chrysler/Dodge/Jeep vehicles are made outside of the U.S and/or use parts from foreign companies. The Chrysler 300c (Their “luxury car”) is made in Canada using parts from a 15 year old Mercedes E-class. And don’t forget that Fiat (An Italian car company) has the largest stake in Chrysler next to the UAW.

Q: does any one know what the 2008 hyundai equus looks like?
i wan to see it unspied with no covering on it!

A: You probably won’t see the wraps come off this thing until mid 2007.

Q: when does hyundai equus come to usa hyundai dealerships?

A: You should try asking the dealership near you as this car won’t be a mass volume seller and most dealers will only receive 1-2 in the 1st quarter of 2011, so you will need to preorder if you desire one early in 2011. Pricing is supposed to be in the $60K range

Q: Has the Hyundai Equus been released for sale yet?

A: hyundai did a soft release a few months ago in a select few markets. it is not projected to be released until the end of august but only a few dealers will have them at first is what we are being told.

Q: What is the app in the Apple app store that was shown on the Hyundai commercial called?
i saw a Hyundai Equus commercial and it was really cool and this app was shown on the iPad and at the end of the commercial it said it was available on the app store. i want to know what this app is called please and thank you.

A: Here is the commercial – http://www.youtube.com/user/HMAUSA?feature=pyv&ad={creative}&kw={keyword}#p/u/2/7bb3qZHQVe8

and the app is – http://www.youtube.com/redirect?q=http%3A%2F%2Fitunes.apple.com%2Fus%2Fapp%2Fhyundai-equus-ipad-owner-experience%2Fid406181210%3Fmt%3D8&session_token=YU-74doXNrL-o9Q2MJ5_ftrsewZ8MTI5MjkwNzQwOA%3D%3D

Q: What is the app for the Hyundai car called?
i saw a Hyundai Equus commercial and it was really cool and this app was shown on the iPad and at the end of the commercial it said it was available on the app store. i want to know what this app is called please and thank you.

A: Not 100% sure but I believe when you buy an Equus you get the ipad free which has the app loaded on it.

Q: Hyundai EQUUS Ipad Commercial HD?
whats the music playing on this commercial???

A: I do not know

Q: Need help locating blower motor resistor for a 98 buick regal?
Blower Motor replaced but will only work on high no other settings work. My buddy thinks it may be the blower motor resistor. We are unable to locate this. This is a 1998 Buick Regal.

A: One of two places-under the hood on the passenger side near the firewall. It will have 4 wires going to it and it is usually bolted with 2 small screws into the blower motor housing.
Or under the passenger dash panel. Same configuration.
Largest guage wire will be purple.

Q: How to replace a power mirror on a 1995 Buick Regal?
I am looking how to replace the passenger side power mirror on a 1995 Buick Regal GS? I would like to this myself instead of paying a body shop to do the work if possible. Thanks for any help.

A: find out how to do it online

Q: Where can I find a diagram on how to change the breaks on my 87 Buick regal?
I need to change the braeks on my Buick regal 87. I looked at them and seem easy, but I don’t really know the steps to take. Can you please help me? I really appreciate this.

A: ChiltonsDIY.com has step by step procedures.

Q: where is the transmission control modual on a 98 buick regal?
Some one told me to look at the trasmission control modual to fix a code from OBDII P1652 on a buick regal. Still wondering how to fix the code and what to do on how to fix it. I went to Autozone it say replace relay cooling fan 2 i replace that and the light is still on.

A: The trans control mod. isn’t even tied into the code you have. did you clear the code? if you did and still came back on,check the 30 amp fuse for c2 fan or there is another relay that works with relay 2 thats c fan3 relay

Q: How do you pull trouble codes from a 1995 Buick Regal?
I have a 1995 Buick Regal 3.8L. And My check engine soon light is on and i can not pull the codes for it. I tried using a paper clip to connect the wires. But No Luck. I need to know how to pull the trouble codes for this car.

I went to Autozone/Advance and they said that the 95 model cant use the machine they have, but they told me to use something like a paper clip to connect where the plugs were, and i did that and i have no luck so could anyone help me?

A: danie is right your second anwer is complrtely wrong all autozone has is obd2 scanners wont scan obd1 systems

Q: Why does my ‘78 Buick Regal make screeching noise while driving?
When first driving their is no sound, but after about 15-20mins my car, 1978 Buick Regal, begins to make a screeching sound while driving. However the sound goes away when breaking. Any ideas?
i just had all my fluids checked and power steering belt tightened during recent oil change and the sound did not stop. I thought it had something to do with the brakes but was just hoping it was something cheaper.

A: You need front pads and rotors machined. Think about it the stops when you apply brakes. The wear indicators are rubbing on rotors, they do not start making noise until the brake rotors heat up.

Q: How do you install a new regulator into a 2001 buick regal??
I need detailed directions on how to take out an old regulator and put in a new one in to the front drivers side window of a 2001 buick regal. Thanks!

A: Take the door panel off and you should see three rivets. Remember which three holes the rivets were in .Use a center punch to knock out the centers and drill the rivets out.
Be careful because the window will drop to the bottom of the door. I use 1/2 long bolts X 1/4 with lock washers for reassembly.
Or you could go to alldata.com.

Q: Why wont my interior lights shut off in my 1994 Buick regal grand sport?
I have a 1994 Buick Regal Grand sport and one day the interior lights would not shut off, then all the sudden my alternator is not putting any volts out, I have sense changed the battery and alternator and still no change. Any suggestions.

A: try turning your head light switch back to shut off dome light.

Q: What would be a good GM V8 engine to put into a 1992 Buick Regal?
Currently my ‘92 Regal has the stock Buick 3.8 V6 engine which many GM enthusiasts consider excellent, however while driving it sometimes feels like something is holding you back. It is not gutless or anything; I actually think the car is too heavy for a 6. It’s pretty well a tank. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Jay I hope you don’t mean the 283. I need something a bit more modern so I can still pass the damned emissions tests.

A: Does a V8 even fit in a GM W-Body?
All those cars had sixes….
Maybe the transverse 325 LS4 V8 from a Gen IX Impala SS

Q: Will a faulty heater core cause my 1997 buick regal to overheat?
Hello all,
I have a1997 buick regal and noticed that the heater does not work. I also noticed my car making a boiling noise when I returned home today. I opened the hood and the car is overheating, resevoir tank very HOT about to boil over. However, the temperature gauge never made it past the 1/2 way mark.Any and all help will be appreciated, Thanks!

A: it is possible your heater core has no fluid in it for heat to transfer. you may have a small leak, and the heater core is the high point, if the heater was in the open position the antifreeze could drain out first, and no, a heater core would not cause your car to overheat, I believe you have a leak somewhere, and your radiator is low on antifreeze, and blowing steam into your overflow, this will bring the fluid left in it to a boil sooner or later. often times a water pump bearing gets wear, and underneath your water pump is a weep hole, and it will let anti freeze through, this is a indication of impending water pump failure, you need to get underneath or have someone inspect you cooling system, as this is just one guess. In the morning, after the radiator is cool, open the cap and add water for now (if you have a leak, at 10.00 bucks a gallon or more, you can waste a lot of money really quick. If your radiator is really low, do not drive the car, your heads may be out of anti freeze already, and lack of fluid can damage and crack the head first. Its clear you have a problem, just not what it is yet. and if your overflow tank is staying full, then your cap is bad also so replace this as soon as you can, dont drive the car unless you are sure its full of water or antifreeze, its easy to get a big pocket of air, and overheating can happen even if the temp gauge does not, because the guage sensor is in the block, which may have fluid, but if there is no fluid in the heads, they can crack. or blow the head gasket. Check the oil too, make sure it is clear, clean oil, and not milky or foamy.
NEVER ADD COLD WATER TO A OVERHEATED MOTOR, ALWAYS LET THE MOTOR COOL, and its always a good time to change the thermostate when doing the water pump, and inspect all belts and hoses, including heater hoses, thourougly and replace anything that looks old, or is cracked or has weird bulges pushing out, or a fat section of hose, that looks odd compared to the others.

Q: How similar is the chassis of a 1996 buick regal and a 1996 grand am?
Can I install a hitch receiver designed for a 1996 grand am on my 1996 buick regal without too much difficulty?

A: I think it would be slightly different, but you could still go ahead and get one fitted by a tow hitch specilist.

Q: How do I install dash and rear speakers in a 1994 Buick Regal Custom?
I bought a set of dash and rear speakers and then had a installation diagram sent to me.. it said it was for a 1994 Buick Regal Custom but when I removed the grill for the dash speakers the diagram did not match what was actually there… Does anyone know how to do this properly or a good diagram to show how to do this?

A: Does the vehicle have a BOSE system? Is that where the confusion occurs with the wiring? Are you seeing four wires instead of two coming off of the harness?

Q: Where is the flasher unit located in a 1998 Buick Regal?
My friend’s parents are working on an issue with their car and are having issues locating the flasher unit for their 1998 buick regal. Does anyone know where the flasher unit is located on this car?

A: ITS A SQUARE RELAY UNDER THE DASH ON THE DRIVERS SIDE. THE PART NUMBER ON IT SHOULD BE 12450054

Q: How to install window motor and wiring on 1999 buick regal?
I need to install a new motor and wiring in the driver side door of a 1999 buick regal any help?

A: The wiring itself will be a pain because you need to run from the fuse box to the inside of the door. Many times you don’t really need to replace the wiring, just the motor. And many times you might have to buy a new wiring harness…so its really a rarity for the wiring to be bad on an 11 year old car. Buy a regulator with a motor and get a Haynes or Chilton manual and get it done in your driveway. save you about 200 dollars. The motor should fire up after the new regulator is installed. Just be careful to line the window up properly…you can do it by raising the window while it is still loose in the clamps and tighten the clamps down once it is to the point where you are satisfied. or if it is a through the glass design, put it through the same holes it came out of on the new glass. the position of the regulator will line it right up

Q: I have a 2000 buick regal, transmission won’t shift into overdrive?
I have a 2000 buick regal, I first recieved a code that said the tcc was stuck. I changed the transmission filter and fluid and seemed to have fixed the stalling problem. Now I have noticed my car will not shift into overdrive. While driving down the road at a speed of 70 to 75, I can shift it into drive and let off the accelerator, put back into od and it will shift into od, but as soon as I press the accelerator it downshifts into drive and stays there. Any suggestions? Please help, can’t afford a professional shop.

A: It could be a bad sensor. The one that detects the load of the engine vs vehicle speed for the transmission to do the shifting, that is my best guess and I could be wrong. A good diagnostic for the car computer can tell you. Do you have any Engine Service Soon warning yet?

Find great deals and more information about the BMW X6! At your favorite automotive site carbl.com

Q: Porsche cayenne or BMW x6 or a sports coupe like an Aston Martin db9 or Audi r8.Any ideas?
I’m looking for my first car and I have budget of 50-70k. I’m not sure whether to go for a new suv like a Porsche cayenne or BMW x6 or a sports coupe like an Aston Martin db9 or Audi r8.Any ideas?

A: FIrst of all, if you did your research, you will have found that it is very unlikely to find a DB9 or R8 in existence for under 70K. If you do happen to find one in that price range, you should be extremely wary. Used exotics have a reputation for poor reliability and high maintenance costs. Cars that are more likely to be found in the 50-70K price range would be a used: Ferrari 360, AM V8 Vantage, Mercedes SL, Maserati Quattroporte or Bentley Continental GT, new: BMW M3, Audi S5 or a Porsche Cayman.

Secondly, what type of car you need depends on your lifestyle. If you have kids, or haul around lots of things get the X6. The the new generation Porsche Cayenne has just been introduced and won’t be on sale for another couple of months, making any Cayenne you may buy right now old news. If you don’t really care about that, great job, you probably saved yourself a lot of money off the MSRP as dealers are trying to make room in their lots for the newer cars. I personally would never get a car that’s just been replaced by a newer generation.

The X6 is a great car. I think it looks very nice (contrary to the opinions of many other people) and it drives like a sedan. An even more practical car would be the X5, as the X6 is short on rear headroom, seats only four and has a smaller trunk. However, the X6 is much better to drive. I’ve driven an X5 xDrive35i and it felt sluggish.

The Mercedes ML 550 is aging, but it is a very great car to own and drive. I have a ML 500 and I can tell you it is a great car to drive and very practical for many things. However a replacement is due in 1-2 years.

What kind of car you should get is entirely up to you.

Q: Has BMW ever produced a vehicle called the X6 ?
Me and a friend are in a debate over the existence of a car called the BMW X6. We both acknowledge that it is in development for release in 2007-2008, but I say that is the first time BMW has used that moniker on a production vehicle. She thinks it was/is the name of a low production volume SUV/crossover vehicle, not sold in the US, or only sold to limited markets. So what is the history (if any) behind the “X6″?

A: “The BMW E70 automobile platform will be the basis for the future X5 SUV. It will replace the BMW E53. It is expected that it will be released some time during 2007, and will be considerably bigger than the current E53 model and is rumoured to accommodate two extra passengers. The increase in size is due to the uncomfortably close sizes of the current generation X5 and smaller X3 model.

The next generation BMW X5 will be 60mm wider, 165mm longer; with a 110mm longer wheelbase, but will remain at the height of the current generation X5 at 1715mm. The SUV will be manufactured alongside with the new 2008 BMW X6 at BMW’s South Carolina plant in the USA.” -wikipedia.org

Q: Which car would you prefer to own, a BMW X6 or Audi S5?
Even though they are completely different cars which would you prefer to have, a BMW X6 or a Audi S5. I’m asking this because I am torn between the two and i can’t decide which one to get.

A: BMW

don’t buy an Audi

Q: Good idea to have a BMW X6 as a first car?
Well im 17 and just got my licence a month ago. My parents want to buy me a BMW X6 for my hardwork in college but im not sure if it will be the right car for me.

Do you think its a good idea?

A: If you are serious about your statements, then I can say that the X6 is an awesome vehicle. But it is not for everyone not just for the price but also for its looks. But it sure is a head-turner.
And also note that BMW will come out shortly with M versions of both the X5 and the X6. These would even be better and costlier.

Q: When is the official Australian release date for the 5 seater BMW X6?
Currently the X6 is a 4 seater and reviews from consumers have been very negative because of this. I would agree too! Such an expensive, and physically big car but can only seat 4 people (such a waste I think).

So therefore I heard there will be an X6 5 seater release soon but not too sure when…would anyone have any facts about this?

A: I couldn’t find info about release date on line so use the link to find a dealer and ask them.

http://www.bmw.com.au/com/en/newvehicles/x6/x6/2007/introduction.html

Q: What song is playing on the bmw x6 coupe commercial?
it’s the commercial that starts with the coupe being made out of clay.

A: This is a custom made music by Australian composer Felix Bloxsom.
I love this music.

Q: what is the book value of a new 2009 BMW x6?
I am leasing a one model year old vehicle listed with all options at $89,000. How much should the discount be given it is already one model year old. They have offered me $5,000 off the price, however, isnt the depreciation alone 15% and greater once i drive off the lot. What should the buying price be?

A: In my opinion, once you drive a new car off the lot, the car depreciates by 20%, and 10% every consequent year.

I just bought a 2008 M3 (in 2009) for $67,000. As built price for this car is $84,000 and the previous owner was probably offered $84,000 x 80% (20% from new to used car depreciation) x 90% (last year model depreciation)= $60,480 for the car. Then the dealership charges me $67,000 for a nice little profit.

So in your case, for a new x6, I would ask for at least 10% off your price. $89,000 x 90% = $80,100.

Not knowing how little mileage the car has or what condition it is in, I think $80,000 should be a good start as a counter offer. Of course, the dealership is going to have to profit or else they’re going to hold out for another buyer.

Hope this helps.

Q: Jafooly ask when did the BMW X6 start being sold in the UK?
Jafooly saw one today on the motorway and Jafooly say car seemed to just dominate the road.
Also Jafooly ask what car is this; http://hvtm.totalcar.hu/car/l/bmw/677276.jpg

A: The BMW X6 launched in May, 2008 and the X6 M went on sale on 24th October, 2009.

Q: How much does the BMW X6 cost fully loaded?
I can’t find the exact price anywhere!

A: Base is $53,000 US.
Loaded RIGHT up expect to pay $70,000 before taxes.

Q: Which car should i get the BMW X6 or X5?
I am going to order my new car soon and i was wondering which car the majority of the people would choose.

A: neither get a beater. the economy is crap and you’re over here trying to ask which bmw you should get.

Q: WHICH CAR DO YOU LIKE MORE ESCALADE PLATINUM OR BMW X6 50I?
IF YOU COULD BY ONE CAR WHICH ONE AND WHY?

A: Stop shouting. The Escalade is too expensive and cant tow my 5th wheel camper. I’ve got no idea what the BMW looks like, but I suspect it cant plow my driveway either

Q: How come my BMW X6 does not have cruise control at 290 kmph?

A: BMW 155 top speed

250 stops finish

Q: Is the BMW X6 going to over take the X5 or will they both stay for sale into the future?

A: They will be both stay for sale, the X6 will not be taking over the X5. Personally, I think the X6 will flop due to the awkward looks. I am a die-hard BMW fan, but personally, I think they are trying to fill niches which have absolutely ZERO consumer appeal.

Q: How many people can a BMW X6, X5 and Porsche Cayenne seat?

A: 5 Passenger

Q: What car is similar to the BMW X6?
i don’t want the X6 because its really crappy. Is there any car that is similar to it?

A: yep its the most crappy car BMW make…. so why would u wnat something similar… if you mean a substitute… get a X5… thats the ultimate BMW taht can be compared to it…

x6 ride comfort sucks..
perfornace on road sucks…
performance offroad… suckks…
price … not worth it sucks…

all this cant be said for the X5… can be said for the X3 so dont go ttehre….

people often say… if you dont want the X6 you have two choices…

THE BMW 5 SERIES ESTATE/WAGON … this is much better than the X6 in every possible way… but its lower to the ground

OR

THE BMW X5… smae still much better… but.. its high up…. thats the only differnce and its actaully works off road…

SOOO GOOD LUCK…!!

YOUR A SMART PERSON for choosing BMW . the ultimate driving machine… JOY is BMW.

Q: What’s the song in the Acura ZDX commercial?
I can’t find it on the usual commercial-song websites. It has a tango kind of sound to it, and the only words I gathered was the “un, deux, trois” in the beginning.

It’s the Acura ZDX commercial where a woman with short black hair watches the car go down the street.

A: I love that commercial!!
the song is Pa’ Bailar by Bajofondo.

Q: What is that cool tango-esque background music in the Acura ZDX commercial?
It’s the commercial where a pretty lady is walking down the street when she notices the car. What band plays that song? What’s its title?

A: Bajofondo – Pa’ Bailar

Q: what are your thoughts on the new acura zdx?
what are your thoughts on the new acura zdx?
looks real ugly to me.

http://www.caranddriver.com/news/car/09q2/2010_acura_zdx-official_photos_and_info/gallery

A: Bugs Bunny with wheels

Q: is the acura ZDX an suv or sadan?
do u like the acura ZDX? what are the pros and cons?
and if the ZDX is bad then what car is similar or better?

A: The ZDX is a crossover. I’ve tried out the ZDX and it is nice, more room than I previously thought in the back seat/ trunk. This vehicle, especially fully loaded, is quite pricey. The Honda Accord Crosstour is the same vehicle, but not as luxurious.

Q: Acura ZDX Brake Failure?
How to fix my Acura ZDX 2010 brake failure problem?
My car’s brakes just stopped working.

A: if your brakes are not working call roadside assistance which is included in your cars warranty. Have it towed to the nearest acura dealer to have it checked out.

Q: acura ZDX price ???? super car only super runner?
ZDX

A: The ZDX is just a prototype, so it doesn’t have a price. It I had to guess, I’d say it would be around the MDX price.

Q: why does the Acura ZDX uses ferrofluid?

A: There have always been two competing goals for auto suspension systems: A soft suspension is needed for a smooth ride, and a stiff suspension system is needed for high performance. It sounds like this ferromagnetic fluid suspension, which is similar to one used by Audi, seeks to satisfy both requirements.

Q: Why are they advertising Acura’s suspension oil as new technology and new thinking?
I had a 1989 Ford Thunderbird SC with this kind of suspension. It had a switch to make the car ride firm or soft using this magnetic fluid. Does anyone else know of any other older model cars that had this technology and how long its been around?

If you haven’t seen the ad. http://www.dailymotion.com/video/xcrg8x_acura-zdx-oil_auto

A: I did not get that Acura was trying to say their electro-magnetic suspension fluid was new technology or thinking. The commercial says “most luxury brands use oil in their suspension,” so it sounds like all Acura is trying to do is differentiate themselves from the other luxury makers.

Q: For the price, do you like the Infiniti G (coupe or sedan) or the Acura TL?
I’ve heard the ZDX and RL are much better cars than both, but more expensive.
Infiniti Couple has AWD too

A: Both are highly rated. The Acura has AWD so it’s much better in snow.

Q: What would you rate these cars (1-10, 1 ugly 10- super hot)?
camaro ss
charger srt8
acura zdx
lamborghini diablo
audi r8
ferari 458 italia
They’re all a perfect 10 in my book! if you don’t like any of them what car is your perfect 10?

A: camaro ss 8
charger srt8 7
acura zdx 5
lamborghini diablo 9
audi r8 9
ferari 458 italia 9

Q: Which vehicle is better? and Why?
I plan to buy a vehicle for dad soon. And I don’t know which vehicle to get. Please Help. Here are the choices:
1. 2010 Honda Crosstour
2. 2010 Acura ZDX
3. 2011 Chevy Traverse
Or..
4. 2011 Ford Edge <--- I like the Ford Edge, but what do you think?

A: I would say 2 because being a luxury brand from a reliable company, it has more/better features than any of the other choices you have listed here. the technology is better and it probably has more luxurious features than any of the others. it’s performance would be the best out of those.

Q: Good Lord who is she?
Have a look at this Acura commercial…..who is this perfect specimen of a woman?
That face is to die for alone. Damn!

http://vodpod.com/watch/2892616-2010-acura-zdx-tv-commercial-exclamation

A: my mom

Q: Which Car Should I get?
Infiniti FX35, Audi Q5 or the new Acura ZDX

A: Now a days people work smartly not because of fuel economy but also reliability. This is the main concern of what people tend to look for in a car. If you choose the Infiniti or the Acura, you obviously are buying something thats fuel efficient as well as reliable. Acura has a good interior but Infiniti are really worth driving.

Audi’s are not reliable, not fuel efficient and will cause constant problems if now maintained right.

All are great cars test drive one to see which feels the best

Q: Which car is the most suitable for this situation?
This time next year I will be heading to the US for university. I have searched with my family for universities, even houses just in case I don’t stay in the dorms after the 1st year. Apart from studying there is nothing to do so I just search for cars at the moment.

I will be staying near Boston, MA for sure so I definitely need an all wheel drive or a car with good traction control. (since it snows)

I really love sports car and my family can afford a decent sports car for me but here comes the dilemma.

I have talked with my uncle here who has been fixing cars since he was 15 – now he is 60. He is telling me that Japanese cars are definitely the way to go atm and German cars follow after losing some ground during the last years. I agree with him.

Cars I would consider are:

1) 370z -nissan- which is not AWD but has nice traction control etc. (my uncle tells me about the gtr which in fact is AWD but is way out of the budget.)

2) ZDX – acura- which is not a sports car, but its a crossover and AWD ofc. Like an improved-better looking bmw X6, more reliable and efficient as well.

3) RX-8 – mazda – not a good choice since its RWD, but it is one of the best cars out there, its value for money. The engine might be 1300cc but at 9000 rpm and producing 230 hp it is an amazing car to drive even though it looks cheap etc. looks bad to the ones who don’t know about their unique engines.

4) Cayman S – porsche – Like all new porsches, its AWD but porsches are not what they used to be.

5) S5 – audi – Very nice car, AWD, good choice.

6) Range Rover Sport HSE – Land Rover – Good jeep, AWD, very beautiful car but its English i.e. not really reliable.

I could also go for:

1) Something American which I highly avoid because even though they are cheap, they lack interior and exterior design. (camaros / shelbies / corvettes look amazing from the outside but they have other cons)

2) Mercedes // BMW if I look for something used because they are overpriced for no reason – ok Audi might be a bit overpriced too but it is one of my favorte cars.

You might think that the price of some of these cars differs a lot but hey, I am just saying which cars I like.

Gimme your 2 cents on that even though I know I still am 1 year away from the purchase.

When I reposted this question I got some really stupid replies regarding American cars like: “japanese cars are clowny, german cars suck, american rule”. There is no doubt that japanese cars are the best cars techonologically wise followed by the German cars, and inversely, German cars are the leaders in design followed by the serious Japanese brands along with some Americans. Please read my post carefully regarding either an AWD or a sportscar with good traction control. I am not saying I don’t like some American cars (in fact I love the Camaro SS and the Mustang GT) but I don’t think they are suitable for New England’s winter, don’t get me wrong.
